PS5: Sony has released the official DualSense drivers on Linux
Linux gamers have received a nice Christmas gift from Sony: the Japanese giant has just made available new HID drivers with support for PS5 DualSense, as well as other PlayStation hardware.

Thanks to new kernel drivers, now DualSense can interface with Linux either via cable or via Bluetooth connection. Functions such as LEDs, motion sensors, touchpad, battery status indicator and vibration are supported. At the moment, however, the distinctive features of the controller, namely haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, are not contemplated, since "they require a large amount of complex data from a structural point of view". These are, on the other hand, exclusive features of games developed specifically for the PlayStation 5, which are also missing on PC and Steam, which have also recently been updated to support DualSense.

Nice to see Sony at work to expand the compatibility of its controller. Likewise, it is ironic to know that the DualSense is not compatible with the PlayStation 4, while with Android, iOS, PS3, the aforementioned PC and even Nintendo Switch (with a simple adapter) yes.
