The Volvo revolution has begun, only electric vehicles on the construction site
Volvo is undoubtedly one of the most active brands in the electric motor vehicle market, and in addition to having created the Polestar brand - which aims to compete with Tesla's offer - the Swedish company is concentrating on diversifying its offer of electric vehicles as much as possible. The range of electric buses designed for city public transport immediately comes to mind, a sector in which the Swedish company is one of the leading exponents, thanks to the new Volvo 7900 Electric we told you about a few weeks ago.

Da a few days ago, the house began delivering the first trucks produced by the Volvo Construction Equipment division, which manufactures construction equipment. This is a process that began in 2018, which today finally sees the light of the market: the future foresees only battery-powered vehicles for the shipbuilding sector, to the benefit of pollution, both in terms of CO2 emissions and as regards the acoustic aspect.

The first deliveries have ended in France: it is an ECR25 electric excavator, and a Volvo FE Electric truck, both currently used in the yard that is carrying out the Grand Paris Express project, a series of high-speed railway lines under construction in the Ile-de-France region.

Volvo strongly believes in electric construction equipment, judging by the words of Melker Jernberg, president of Volvo Construction Equipment: “The delivery of this truck and this excavator represents the beginning of a revolution in the shipbuilding and work equipment sector; these are not niche products, these machines will soon spread and replace endothermic combustion vehicles.
