Cashback: rest assured, there are funds for everyone
No one will be left with a dry mouth or will not be credited in full for the Christmas Extra Cashback accrued in these weeks. Last week there was talk of a potential problem related to the funds allocated by the Government to finance the measure, a total of 227.9 million euros destined for this first experimental phase of the initiative, after which there would inevitably be a "proportional reduction refund ". This is what is read in the Official Gazette.

The allocation of the reimbursement provided for in Article 7 takes place within the limits of the amount of € 227.9 million. If the aforementioned financial resource does not allow the full payment of the reimbursement due, this is proportionally reduced.

Cashback and available funds: the reassurances of the Government

However, a participation such as to reach the quota, therefore the reimbursements will be paid in full, as expected. This is confirmed by an internal source at Palazzo Chigi through the pages of Il Sole 24 ore.

The Cashback relating to the experimental period of December is paid in 2021, as well as the first half of 2021. For both these periods the allocation overall is 1,750 million. So for the Christmas Extra Cashback there are all the necessary resources.

We remind you that what accrued during these first weeks of the Cashback will be credited to the citizens' current account within 60 days from the end of the period, therefore by the end of February 2021, on the IBAN indicated at the time of registration or subsequently through the IO application.

The second phase will start from 1 January, lasting six months as well as the next two (until June 2022). Unlike what happens with Christmas Extra Cashback, it will be necessary to carry out at least 50 transactions in the store by paying by credit card, debit card, debit card or one of the other supported methods.
