MSI, the Resizable Bar for RTX 3000 will arrive on these motherboards
In a press release, MSI announced that it is ready to support Resizable Bar technology on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards with an update for all select motherboards. In case you are unaware, Resizable Bar allows the CPU to have access to all GB of the video card's VRAM, improving performance in some titles with an impact that can vary greatly from game to game. Although it has been in the PCI Express interface specification for quite some time, it was thanks to AMD and its Smart Access Memory technology that we saw a general interest in the subject.

Already a couple of weeks ago we reported that he had conducted some tests on a MEG Z490 Godlike motherboard on which an Intel Core i9-10900K processor and an AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT graphics card were mounted, highlighting variable improvements by activating the Resizable Bar functionality. More specifically, in some games there was an increase in the average fps level of up to 14%, while in others there was a slight decrease. In the future, this feature will also be exploited by NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards. The various tests carried out by the MSI team can confirm that the feature has no problems on all selected MSI products.

Recently, the well-known Taiwanese manufacturer presented, on the occasion of CES 2021, a new range of laptops, dedicated to gamers and content creators, all equipped with the new RTX 3000 based on Ampere architecture and with the latest generation Intel CPU. Among this we find the MSI Stealth 15M, the MSI GE66 Raider, the GE76 Raider and others, of which you can read more details in our dedicated news.
