The CD Projekt RED blockbuster is inspired by Mike Pondsmith's Cyberpunk 2020 roleplaying game, which at the end of the 1980s became part of a trend that a few years earlier had been brought to the fore by William Gibson with his seminal Neuromancer.

Cyberpunk: Absolute Anthology will also be embellished with an introduction by Bruce Sterling, written for the occasion, and an afterword by Francesco Guglieri.
