Cyberpunk 2077: how to modify weapons using Mods
Having arrived on the market after many years of waiting and having sparked numerous controversies due to the various postponements and the status of the PS4 and Xbox One versions, Cyberpunk 2077 has still managed to win a positive judgment from the critics and the public who were able to play it at maximum of its potential.

Although the structure that supports Cyberpunk 2077 is that of a very solid role-playing game, full of facets and elements typical of the genre, in the latest masterpiece by CD Projekt Red there is an important component shooting, and more generally combat. This is why it becomes essential to understand how you can improve your weapons in order to keep up with enemies and gangs that will become more and more powerful and dangerous as you continue within the game.

In addition to the possibility of create them completely from scratch, the weapons can also be improved by using the numerous mods that you can recover within the game world, exploring Night City or looting defeated enemies. In Cyberpunk 2077 there are two different types of mods that can be applied to the protagonist's weapons: standard ones and software ones. While within the first category it is possible to find a very long series of physical and real modifications and upgrades, such as sights, magazines, suppressors, grips and much more, the software-type mods represent all those changes that, despite not being visible from the 'external, they enhance and improve a series of important aspects and statistics of the weapon, such as the rate of fire, accuracy, damage dealt, etc. Each weapon has a certain number of slots for applicable modifications, divided between slots for standard mods and slots for software mods, depending on the rarity and quality of the weapon itself; in general, however, the total number of mods available on a weapon varies from zero to four.

Once you have the mods, which as we said can be recovered either by exploring the game world and opening crates of equipment, or by looting the corpses or, again, by buying them from the weapons dealers that you can find inside of Night City, you can equip them on one of the weapons in your possession with at least one free mod slot. To do this, all you have to do is access the weapons section within the menu of your inventory, and select the weapon you want to improve. At this point, just select the mod you want to apply to the weapon, provided that it has a valid slot available: the interface will show you a preview of the changes that will be applied once the process has been completed, and to this point just confirm your choice to apply the change.
