Cyberpunk 2077 and corrupted saves: no restore with Hotfix 1.06
One of the most annoying problems that emerged after the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 involved the bug of corrupted saves over 8MB. With the latest update, CD Projekt reports that it has closed this serious flaw, without however providing any solution for those who want to restore already corrupt saves.

In the notes accompanying the Cyberpunk 2077 Hotfix 1.06 published today on Wednesday 23 December, the Polish software house has in fact specified that it has "removed the 8MB limit for save files on PC. Note: this will not fix corrupt save files before the update".

The problem in question, which emerged when the size limit for save files set by CD Projekt RED was exceeded, prompted the same developers in recent days to issue a press release on the pages of GOG.com to invite users to "keep an eye on "save files by reducing the number of objects and materials for creation in the inventory of protagonist V.

Hotfix 1.06 has therefore solved the problem of save files cor broken once the 8MB size limit has been reached and exceeded, but without affecting the files that have already been affected by this bug. At present, it is not clear if CD Projekt will be able to correct this error or if Cyberpunk 2077 users who have stumbled upon the bug (which would seem to concern only the PC version) will be forced, in spite of themselves, to abandon their save, like everything. suggests.

In the notice published on GOG.com before Hotfix 1.06, in fact, the Polish developers had warned their fans by specifying that "the limit of the size of the save file could be increased in the future patches, but corrupted files will remain corrupted ".
