Could some GeForce RTX 3060 cost more than the RTX 3060 Ti?
As you probably already know, the next NVIDIA graphics card in the GeForce RTX 30 series, the GeForce RTX 3060, will be available from next month for € 339. However, according to the British retailer CCL Computers (as indicated by colleagues at VideoCardz), this price will not be followed by various manufacturers, so much so that some models of GeForce RTX 3060 will have a higher cost than the current GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. Obviously, the data must be taken with pince, as we cannot be sure that the prices reported by CCL Computers are the final ones.

Credit: VideoCardz Taking a look at all fifteen custom GeForce RTX 3060s, It's easy to see that only ASUS products are adequately priced, while models from Gigabyte, Palit and Zotac all cost £ 499.99 (around € 563), which is highly unlikely. For this reason, it is probably just about placeholders and, as this is a rather small sample, it is difficult to come to a general conclusion. If we focus primarily on Asus models and CCL Computers pricing, in some cases there is a small price difference between the GeForce RTX 3060 and RTX 3060 Ti. For example, the Dual GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Mini OC Edition costs only 5.9% more than the TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3060 OC Edition. If we look at it from another point of view, the ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3060 and OC editions cost more than the Dual GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Mini OC Edition itself.

Recall that, from a specification point of view, the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is equipped with 35.7% more CUDA cores than non-Ti, while also offering 24.4% more memory bandwidth. In defense of the GeForce RTX 3060, however, it should be noted that it comes with an additional 4GB of GDDR6 memory. In any case, we will have to wait to have it in our hands to be able to carry out suitable tests to verify the performance difference between the two proposals.

The price of the GeForce RTX 3060 will determine the success of the graphics card and, as we already know, every euro counts in the mid-range market. Assuming the price gap between a GeForce RTX 3060 and an RTX 3060 Ti is less than 10%, it would make sense to fall back on the latter, especially if it manages to offer significantly higher performance. The problem is that with the continuing shortage of graphics cards and the resumption of cryptocurrency mining, the chances of finding a GeForce RTX 3060 for € 339 will be very slim.
