House of the Dragon: released the teaser trailer

House of the Dragon: released the teaser trailer
After the news of the start of production arrived in July and having released the first details of House of the Dragon, HBO finally releases the teaser trailer of its new prequel series set in the world of Game of Thrones (The Throne of Swords). >
The teaser has closed the trailer for the presentation of the HBO Max lineup for the coming months. Lasting just a few seconds, the video simply shows us the figure of a fire-breathing dragon, the logo of the series and above all the confirmation of the year of release: 2022. You can see the video released by HBO below:

The series will be based on the novel Fire and Blood by George RR Martin, a literary prequel to the series A Song of Ice and Fire that made him famous and narrates the events of Westeros over a period of 150 years prior to the events we have known. The plot will involve the line of events that inevitably led to the Targaryen civil war.

Director of the series will be Miguel Sapochnik (who already directed some of the most popular episodes of Game of Thrones including “The battle of the bastards ”), who will join Ryan Condal in the role of lead writer. George R. R. Martin has stated that he would like to collaborate on the writing of some episodes, but not before having finished the work on The Winds of Winter (therefore, given the background, his participation is not to be taken for granted).

Among the main protagonists we will see Alicent Hightower, the second wife of King Viserys, gifted with both grace and political acumen, she is described as "the most attractive woman of the Seven Kingdoms", played by Olivia Cooke (Art3mis in Ready Player One). Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen is the king's eldest daughter, a pure-blooded child of Valyria and as such a knight of dragons; will be played by Emma D’Arcy (Truth Seekers). Prince Daemon Targaryen, played by Matt Smith (Doctor Who, The Crown, Terminator Genisys) is the younger brother of King Viserys and heir to the throne, he too has pure dragon blood and therefore can ride dragons, as well as being described as an unrivaled warrior; its development, however, could reserve some surprises, after all it is said that: “every time a Targaryen is born the gods throw a coin in the air…”. King Viserys I Targaryen (not to be confused with the "Mad King" Viserys II) was chosen by the lords of Westeros to succeed the old king, Jaehaerys Targaryen, and is described as a friendly, kind and respectable man; will be played by Paddy Considine (Peaky Blinders, The Outsider).

While waiting for the new series, we recommend that you retrieve the prequel book of A Song of Ice and Fire titled Fire and Blood, which you can find on Amazon at this link.
