Cyberpunk 2077: smartphone infected by the fake Companion App, beware of scams
As if the launch problems of Cyberpunk 2077 weren't enough, recently a collective of hackers decided to take advantage of the enormous media visibility of CD Projekt's sci-fi RPG to create a fake CP2077 Companion App "spiced" with ransomware.

The application in question, from the scam name of Cyberpunk 2077 Mobile, was born with the one and only purpose of infecting the devices on which it is installed with a ransomware, a dangerous virus that limits access to the device and demands a ransom ("ransom" in English) to be paid to remove the lock and regain control of your smartphone or tablet.

At the time of writing, Cyberpunk 2077's fake Companion App seems to have been removed from Google Play and App Store, but there is the concrete possibility of its permanence on the stores and containers of mobile apps for Android and iOS systems that are not official and, therefore, not certified by Google or Apple. Our advice, therefore, is to pay particular attention to the applications dedicated to Cyberpunk 2077 that are appearing in these days on the app stores for iOS and Android systems, for example by checking the history of programs (such as guides, digital inventories or interactive maps) developed by the respective authors to evaluate their actual reliability.

All this, always taking into account the fact that, at least for the moment, there is no official Cyberpunk 2077 application developed by CD Projekt or by its partners . Leaving you to the comments, we remind you that on these pages you will find all the information on Cyberpunk 2077 Hotfix 1.06.
