Cyberpunk 2077: patch 1.05 improves the game on PS4 and Xbox One in a clear way
The ElAnalistaDeBits YouTube channel has released an extensive technical analysis of Cyberpunk 2077 patch 1.05. From what emerges from the video it seems that the long-awaited update published by CD Projekt RED has significantly improved the game on Xbox One, but also on PS4. And, as a result, performance on mid-gens like PS4 Pro and Xbox One X has also increased. Inexplicably, the performance on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S doesn't seem to have improved.

The video posted at the top of the news shows the comparison on the different PlayStation platforms, the one in the queue on Xbox. From both comparisons it emerges how CD Projekt RED has managed to improve the situation on the basic consoles. This is still a sub-optimal situation, but in several scenes on Xbox One the game doubles the frame rate.

For example, in the car chase scene introducing the 'Nomad' route, on Xbox One X you get a pretty stable frame rate at 30fps, when before the patch the average was 15 frames per second . On base Xbox One, the same scene ran at 11-12fps and was unmanageable. Now that it is stable above 20 frames per second it is at least playable.

To this greater fluidity we must add an improvement in the handling of the dynamic resolution of Cyberpunk 2077. Patch 1.05, in fact, allows the game to run on Xbox One between 720p and 900p. Xbox One X, on the other hand, does even better, as it ranges between 1224p and 1368p. To achieve these results, the developers had to lower the quality of the lights, shadows and bring the horizon line closer.

Unfortunately, PlayStation doesn't have the same dramatic results, but improvements are still visible. The 1.05 update of Cyberpunk 2077, in fact, increases the fluidity, the textures and the resolution on the base PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro, making the game much better, despite a stability still below average. To achieve these results the team had to decrease the quality of the lights on the Sony console, while the quality of the shadows remained low.

Inexplicably the PS5 and Xbox Series X / S versions do not seem to have improved from this patch and run almost the same as they did with patch 1.04.
