Amazon and AMD together for Cloud services thanks to EPYC and Radeon Pro
In a press release, AMD and Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced that second generation AMD EPYC CPUs and Radeon Pro GPUs will support the new EC2 G4ad instance for graphics-optimized workloads. Additionally, the AWS GameLift managed service will provide its game hosting customers with access to AMD EPYC processors on its current C5a, m5a, and r5a instances.

As the first instance of AWS built by CPU and GPU AMD, the G4ad is built to support graphics intensive workloads, including visualization, rendering, desktop virtual infrastructure, and more. By harnessing the power of AMD EPYC 2nd Generation CPUs and AMD Radeon Pro V520 GPUs, AWS customers can achieve up to 45% better price / performance and over 40% more graphics performance than current AWS instances.

In addition to the new instance, Amazon GameLift is now providing its video game hosting customers with the access to Amazon EC2 C5a, M5a and R5a instances based on AMD EPYC to ensure an excellent price / performance ratio.

Continuing to talk about EPYC, we recently reported that ASRock Rack has launched a motherboard in " Deep Mini -ITX ”for the realization of SFF systems with up to 64 cores thanks to the support of AMD EPYC 7002 series processors (codenamed“ Rome ”). In fact, ASRock ROMED4ID-2T has an SP3 socket and supports AMD's EPYC 7002 series processors with the LGA4094 package.

The motherboard has four DDR4 memory slots that support RDIMMs and LRDIMMs with capacities up to 256GB, for a maximum total of 1TB. The device also features a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot for an accelerator or graphics card, an M.2-2280 (PCIe 4.0 x4 or SATA) slot for SSD, and six slimline connectors for U.2 drives (PCIe 4.0 x8 or SATA). The platform's internal I / O is good enough for both servers and workstations. In addition, the ASPeed AST2500 (BMC) controller has also been integrated.

ASRock B450M Steel Legend is a motherboard with AM4 socket ready to host the new processors from AMD, you can find it on Amazon for less than 100 euros!
