Overwatch 2, the Halloween event leaves a bad taste in the mouth

Overwatch 2

Not all Overwatch 2 fans were happy with the Halloween event. Like several other development teams, in fact, Blizzard has also decided to celebrate the scariest anniversary of the year. Launched today, the event will last until November 9 and will allow you to earn a themed charm, experience points for the battle pass and much more. Also present are the skins, which would be the reason for this discord, given their distribution.

As reported on Twitter and Reddit, in fact, players are not at all happy with having to buy these particular skins instead of earning them in game. Last year, during the Halloween event, players could in fact unlock simply by playing some special skins such as those of Brigitte, Lucio, Genji and many others. The problem also seems to be the cost of the same, with figures that are around 40 Dollars. A completely different scenario than last year.

Beyond the controversy and criticism, it is clear that Blizzard has had to change something. And the changes are related to the very nature of the game: the first title in the series was in fact a premium product, which had to be purchased to play. Overwatch 2, on the other hand, is free-to-play and the soul of microtransactions, although it has changed, is still present. It is not excluded that the development team will think about it in the future, but it is very likely that the Christmas event will follow these same, identical steps.

Despite the large pool of players, the title is still plagued by several bugs, some even very serious. It will obviously take time before we can fix everything: will you be patient or not?
