TikToker improves the efficiency of thermal paste with salt

It is certainly important to adequately cool your CPU, especially given the consumption of the latest high-end processors, so as to ensure consistently high performance even in the presence of demanding workloads. Usually, we all use thermal pastes or possibly liquid metal, but a TikTok user named @mreester has carried out various tests using also commonly used food products, such as sugar or maple syrup.

Needless to say, being the experiments aimed at entertainment, the results were rather disappointing, as they used materials that were unsuitable for the purpose. In particular, trying to replace the thermal paste with food sugar, on an Intel processor it was about 60 degrees higher, while with maple syrup it reached 69 ° C already in the BIOS. The boy also enjoyed modeling the thermal paste in various ways, for example by replicating the Discord logo, to see how it lay on the processor after applying heat sink pressure.

In any case, it is impossible to determine whether to carry out an operation of this kind is always so effective, given that the factors that may have led to such a result can be many, starting from the quantity and type of paste applied.
