Twitter is now Elon Musk, executives fired

Twitter is now Elon Musk

The $ 44 billion acquisition of Twitter by Elon Musk has successfully completed, after the latter had given up on the operation a few months ago and then retraced his steps, as you see we reported earlier this month, a few weeks before the court trial began. Apparently, the eccentric billionaire wasted no time and, as soon as the company passed into his hands, according to CNBC, The Washington Post and Insider, he celebrated the purchase by firing its executives.

Stando according to what published by Reuters, specifically we talk about Parag Agrawal, who succeeded Jack Dorsy as CEO, and the financial director Ned Segal, both escorted out of safety. Viyaya Gadde, head of corporate policies, and Sean Edgett, general counsel, are also gone, as are Sarah Personette, head of clientele. Obviously, all of them got quite a sizeable severance: Agrawal received $ 38.7 million, Sega $ 25.4 million, Gadde $ 12.5 million and Personette $ 11.2 million. Currently, we don't know how Musk intends to proceed. The Washington Post reported that the man plans to lay off 75% of the employees, but Musk himself later claimed that this estimate was inaccurate.

The billionaire's ultimate goal would be to use Twitter to create "X, the app for everything", using the Chinese application as a reference WeChat, which in China, starting as a simple messaging app, now encompasses pretty much everything from gaming to payments. More information about Musk's next moves will be released soon, and he tweeted: "The bird is freed".
