Margot Robbie isn't done with Harley Quinn yet

Harley Quinn's character played by Margot Robbie is one of the most beloved in the entire DC Extended Universe. Appearing in David Ayer's first Suicide Squad, released in 2016, the anti-heroine created by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm also appeared in Birds of Prey and the phantasmagoric rebirth of Harley Quinn, Cathy Yan's cinecomic (available at a discounted price at this address) and most recently in The Suicide Squad, a soft reboot of the franchise directed by James Gunn.

The actress has now stated in an interview with ET! Online (here the original news) to be ready to continue playing the anti-heroine of the DC comics and ex-girlfriend of the Joker, thus clarifying the previous comments about the need to take a break from the character. Robbie said she had rested enough, although she shot Birds of Prey and The Suicide Squad one after the other, so a lot of time as Harley. The Once Upon a Time in ... Hollywood star later revealed that this is "water under the bridge" as she is absolutely ready to return to the role of the wild Harley Quinn.

Margot Robbie then explained that the Harley that we would have seen in The Suicide Squad is in fact a more "grown-up" version than what we saw in Birds of Prey, free from the suffocating influence of the Joker. The Birds of Prey split early in the film, but ex-doctor Harleen Quinzel wasn't quite ready to let him go for real yet. In Gunn's film, however, she is not even thinking about him, which testifies that the character has in fact found a new starting point, she is looking for a new love, but she is looking for him in all the wrong places.

The Suicide Squad - Suicide mission also stars Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, as well as Michael Rooker, Idris Elba and Daniela Melchior.
