It will take many months before you can play the remake of the space horror game Dead Space yourself. But at least you can take a closer look at the refurbished version today. As Electronic Arts has revealed, a suitable streaming event will take place on the evening of August 31, 2021 - that is, today, Tuesday.

The starting signal for the "Community Livestream" will be given at 7:00 p.m. German time. You can follow the event on the official Twitch channel of the responsible developer studio EA Motive. Among others, the senior producer Philippe Ducharme and the creative director Roman Campos-Oriola will be guests to give you a first closer look at his very early version of the remake of Dead Space (buy now € 49.95). It is therefore possible that you will also see some gameplay scenes during the live stream. However, since this is a version that is in an extremely early phase of development, you should not make a final judgment, especially with regard to the graphics. A lot can and will probably change in this respect until the release.

So far, Electronic Arts and EA Motive have not announced a specific release date for the remake of Dead Space. There are already some rumors that the release is supposed to be planned for the PC and consoles in autumn 2022. A confirmation is currently pending. At least it is certain that the remake is definitely not to be expected in the course of this year.

‘Dead Space’ fans can get a sneak peek at the remake today

EA’s Motive Studios will offer an early look at its upcoming Dead Space remake during a Twitch stream scheduled for 1PM ET, the developer announced on Monday. Fans of the classic survival horror game will get to see a prototype build that Motive said will showcase its vision for the remaster. The studio also promised senior producer Philippe Ducharme and creative director Roman Campos-Oriola will be on hand to speak to the work the team at Motive is doing to update the 2008 title for current generation consoles. Additionally, the stream will feature members from the Dead Space community who have been consulting on the project.


Following a series of tantalizing rumors, EA first teased it was working on a Dead Space remake during its recent Play Live event. The minute-long clip the publisher shared showed off an oppressive necromorph-infested environment and protagonist Isaac Clarke. Dead Space does not currently have a release date, but it’s heading to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
