240W charging is a reality

Fast charging has been one of the defining features of smartphones in recent years, and today realme announced 240W fast charging, the highest ever in a mass-production smartphone and the highest by standard. Type-C . Realme will be the first smartphone brand to introduce this technology and the debut will be on the brand new realme GT Neo 5 in China.

The new 240W fast charging will also include a number of cutting-edge innovations that at the same time guarantee fast and safe charging. To achieve this result, realme  worked on three aspects:

Innovative 240W charging architecture: safe low-voltage charging with extremely high power conversion efficiency (98.7%). World's First 12A Charging Cable: Customized with four 21AWG wires, realme GT Neo 5 will come with customized 12A charging cable, the highest in the industry. The world's first 240W dual GaN charging solution: realme GT Neo 5 will feature the smallest size dual GaN charging components, with a power density of 2.34W/DC, the highest in the industry. In addition, realme has used a three-channel design with 100W charge pump in parallel. The charger supports 20V 12A input and 10V 24A output. As anticipated, the first smartphone to use this technology will be the realme GT Neo 5, which also features a PS3-level fireproof design and 13 temperature sensors to constantly monitor the charging heat.

The device will also be equipped with the largest graphene heat dissipation system in the field of smartphones, up to 6580 mm2 in total. Realme GT Neo 5 has been tested and subjected to stress at a temperature of 85 ° C and up to 85% humidity for 21 days of continuous charging and energy release, in this period no problems of any kind have been encountered . The Chinese manufacturer claims that this recharge guarantees over 1600 charge cycles .

The realme GT Neo 5 will arrive in China in February 2023 with support for 240W fast charging, for the global market this technology will arrive in 2023 on the next flagship.
