RTX 4070 and 4060 Ti coming soon? NVIDIA ramps up chip production

After finally unveiling its new products at CES 2023, including the eagerly awaited RTX 4070 Ti and range of dedicated graphics cards for laptops, new leaks now reveal that Nvidia is preparing to mass-produce new GPUs with AD104 graphics chip, which suggests that these could be the upcoming lower-mid-range RTX 4070 and 4060 Ti models. Obviously, since these are less powerful models, the graphics chip will be used in a significantly reduced version compared to that of the 4070 Ti, thus making use of a lower number of CUDA cores.

The new graphics chips used by the next cards would be AD104 -250 and AD104-251 . The naming suggests that both make use of similar configurations, but obviously this is yet to be verified in the next info that will come out. According to what emerged, the AD104-250 GPU would use the PG14 SKU 343 PCB, the unit equipped with the AD104-251 chip will instead be based on the PG141 SKU 345 PCB. These PCBs have a similar name to the RTX 4070 Ti's PG141 SKU 331, suggesting that they shouldn't vary much on a technical level, making the design work easier for third-party partners.

In any case, the first to go into production should be AD104-250, precisely in February, while AD104-251 will follow in March. Obviously, possible information on the launch date remains unknown for now, but it is probable that the two video cards can debut in the second half of 2023, on a date close to this year's Computex event.

Full specifications are also unknown, but according to previous rumors, the RTX 4070 is expected to include a total of 5888 CUDA cores, along with 12GB of 21Gbps GDDR6X VRAM, a 36MB L2 cache, and a 250W TGP . RTX 4060 Ti should have made use of the AD106 chip instead, but considering the information that has just come out, that could change. As usual, we just have to wait for other rumors to get a clearer picture of the next Nvidia GPU models.
