The Last of Us
After a long wait, The Last of Us finally has a departure date: the series based on the video game of the same name developed by Naughty Dog for PlayStation will debut on Hbo next January 15, 2023, to then arrive simultaneously and exclusively for Italy on Sky and Now on January 16th. Written by Craig Mazin (acclaimed creator of Chernobyl) and Neil Druckmann, who previously worked on the original video game, the nine episodes are set 20 years after the destruction of civilization as we know it: to Joel, a survivor traumatized by the death of his daughter Sarah. who struggles as a smuggler, is entrusted with the mission of rescuing Ellie, a fourteen-year-old who seems to have the solution to save humanity; the task of crossing with her what remains of the United States will be much more complex and treacherous than the two can imagine.The main characters will be Pedro Pascal, now very famous for his roles in Game of Thrones and especially The Mandalorian, and Bella Ramsey, who also jumped to great notoriety thanks to the role of Lyanna Mormont in Game of Thrones. Next to them there will be a very large cast: Gabriel Luna (Agents of Shield, Terminator: Dark Fate) will be Tommy, brother of Joel; Anna Torv (Mindhunter) will play Tess, another surviving friend of Joel's while Nico Parker will play Sarah; Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation) and Murray Bartlett (Looking, The White Lotus) will be Bill and Frank, a troubled couple who will come into contact with these characters.
To underline the announcement of the date for The Last of Us, a teaser poster has arrived that fully represents the apocalyptic atmosphere of the series, which promises to be rather faithful to the video game: against the backdrop of a devastated metropolis, in which abandoned military and civilian vehicles can be seen, the figures of Joel and Ellie can be seen in the distance as they move away towards the horizon.
