Hitman Trilogy announced for console and PC

IO Interactive has announced Hitman Trilogy, a collection that includes the last three episodes of the series starring Agent 47. The trilogy will be available digitally from January 20, 2022 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One and PC ( Steam and Epic Games Store). Moreover, since day-one it will be part of the Xbox and PC Game Pass catalog.

Hitman Trilogy brings together Hitman 1, Hitman 2 and Hitman 3 in a single collection, an opportunity certainly not to be missed for those who must still experience the thrill of taking on the role of Agent 47. In addition, the entire trilogy on PC can be played with VR viewers, another of the novelties announced today by IO Interactive.

The arrival of the Hitman Trilogy at the same time marks the debut of Hitman 3 on Steam with the start of Year 2. The game will have full support for VR headsets and a number of technical improvements, such as Ray Tracing, XeSS and Variable Rate Shading. IO Interactive is also working on the integration of Steam Achievements and Trading Cards. In addition, the Trinityy Pack (the pre-order bonus) will also be included with all editions of Hitman 3 for the first 30 days.

How mentioned above Hitman Trilogy will be available on Steam, Epic Games Store and the digital stores of PlayStation and Xbox from January 20.

Hitman 3 - Year 2 presentation

“If you’re completely new to the world of assassination, we are making it easier than ever to get started and play the full campaign in one single package,” community manager Clemens Koch said during a Hitman 3 presentation on the Hitman YouTube channel (which can be watched above).

“The Hitman Trilogy includes Hitman 1, Hitman 2 and Hitman 3, giving you everything you need to jump straight into the world of assassination. And when Year 2 launches on January 20, the Hitman Trilogy will be available through the Xbox Game Pass catalogue for both console and PC.”

The 2016 reboot of Hitman was critically acclaimed for its episodic format and its level design, and over 13 million had played the game by May 2018.

Its sequel was released in 2018 and was generally considered to be an improvement, as did its 2021 successor Hitman 3.

VGC’s Hitman 3 review praised the game for its art design and entertaining assassination opportunities, but said it was let down somewhat by its final level.

“Wobbly conclusion aside, it’s a must for existing fans and a great introduction to gaming’s boldest, baldest stealth series,” our critic wrote.
