Elden Ring: Number of hours to finish the main story revealed by FromSoftware

Elden Ring

How long does Elden Ring last? FromSoftware answered this question during the Taipei Game Show 2022. A team member revealed that, according to estimates, the number of hours it takes to finish the main storyline alone is about 30. The duration obviously increases if you decide to explore the secondary areas.

Specifically, it is producer Yasuhiro Kitao who speaks. During an interview, Kitao explained that the 30 hours of gameplay required to finish the Elden Ring storyline will become much more if you also explore the secondary areas and the open world. Furthermore, he confirms that being a difficult game, the actual number of hours will increase as he realizes that he gets stuck in front of certain bosses for some time. Kitao states that it will easily take "several dozen hours" longer to see the finale.

A dragon from Elden Ring Players who have tried the Elden Ring Network Test can confirm that to reach the part of mandatory storyline takes a few minutes, once you reach the open world, but to explore the entire region in the beta it takes hours and hours. The souls-like forces players to search every nook and cranny for secrets and useful items, so we are sure that most fans will see the credits with more than 30 hours.

Kitao has also confirmed that lovers of the "lore" typical of FromSoftware games will have a lot to discover inside Elden Ring, as in this new adventure there are many more objects than in the Dark Souls series.

Finally, we remind you that a video is available that collects all the gameplay trailers shown at the Taipei Game Show 2022.

Elden Ring Has Gone Gold Ahead Of Next Month’s Release

Elden Ring has gone gold ahead of its February 25 release date. The news was revealed by Elden Ring producer Yasuhiro Kitao during the game’s Taipei Game Show 2022 presentation.

“Elden Ring was originally slated for release in January of this year, and it has been pushed back once to February. But please be assured, the title will be ready for sale on February 25. The master version has already been submitted, and right now, the team is working on a day one patch to make sure everything in the game is just so.”

The news that the game is finished will be a delight to many fans who were disappointed when the game was delayed from this month. Originally, the game would have been released on January 21, 2022. The game delay was announced in October with the note that “the depth & strategic freedom of the game exceeded initial expectations.” So the news that Elden Ring has gone gold and is finished will be comforting to those who anticipated it would potentially be delayed again.

This weekend, a massive exploit was found in Dark Souls 3, one of From Software’s previous games. That led to all of the Dark Souls games being taken offline on PC. Unfortunately, the code that was used for that exploit in Dark Souls 3 has been found in the data mined version of Elden Ring’s code. That would suggest that the upcoming game may also be vulnerable to the same Remote Code Execution exploit. If true, that would be disastrous for Elden Ring.

Hopefully, the team working on the day one patch for Elden Ring has enough time to ensure that the RCE vulnerability is not in the game when it is launched next month.

Elden Ring will be released on February 25, 2022. The game will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
