Milan, over 14 km of line for the new metro-tramway

Milan

Work will soon begin on the construction of the Milan-Desio-Seregno metrotramway, which will innovate the connection between Brianza and the Lombard capital. Specifically, we are talking about 14 kilometers of route, 8 municipalities involved and 25 stops.

This work will have an important impact on our city, we are preparing for several months that will lead to the urban regeneration of our territory and beyond. The technicians of the Metropolitan City of Milan, of Mm SpA and Cmc Ravenna told us about the various design phases, which will materialize starting from mid-March with the setting up of the construction sites. From the outset it will be our intention to mitigate the inconvenience that will inevitably arise, intervening on the viability and communication with constant and targeted warnings, commented the mayor Simone Gargiulo.

Once completed, the new tramway will replace the disused Milano Desio tramway, with an extension to Seregno station. Specifically, from Parco Nord to Paderno Dugnano in the Calderara locality the work will be double-track while a second part of the line, from Calderara to Seregno FS will be single-track with doubling at intersections. As for the stops: these will be 25 and located between Milan, Bresso, Cormano, Cusano Milanino, Paderno Dugnano, Nova Milanese, Desio, Seregno. In Desio there will be seven.

We are working hard to give the area an important strategic and sustainable infrastructure, which will bring development and new opportunities for everyone. The goal is to increasingly unite the Municipalities of the Milan metropolitan area and those of the Brianza area. In the meantime we are working in close collaboration with the municipal administration and the company that will carry out the work, to meet the legitimate needs of companies, traders and citizens in general, providing for a construction site that limits potential inconvenience, added Beatrice Uguccioni , councilor responsible for the Mobility and Infrastructures of the Metropolitan City.

According to reports, the Seregno FS-Maciachini M3 section will boast 18 new two-way trams, each capable of carrying 190 passengers. On the other hand, one-way trams will operate on the Paderno Calderara-Cairoli M1 section, already circulating on the Milan urban network and equipped with 285 seats.

It is therefore shortly before the start of construction sites for the metro-tramway which from Brianza will make it possible to reach Milan in less of an hour. As Milanotoday reports, the delivery of the areas affected by the project must be made by March 15th. The months of work divided into micro-phases will be 38, activated from time to time along the entire route, 7 stops, 24 construction sites.
