The Walking Dead, here is the teaser trailer of the spin-off Dead City

The Walking Dead

It's just 15 seconds but it's enough to plunge us into the disturbing atmospheres of The Walking Dead: Dead City. The new spin-off of the most famous and, at this point, long-lived television franchise dedicated to zombies is revealed with a first, short teaser trailer released in the last few days. As seen in the preview clip, central to the new series is Maggie (Lauren Cohan), originally seen as the leader of the Hilltop Colony, whose son Hershel is kidnapped; the woman will therefore have to ask for help from Negan , the anti-hero played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan , with whom she will face an urban environment literally infested with the living dead, which apparently also fall from the sky:

This new expansion world of The Walking Dead will see the unlikely couple formed by Maggie and Negan as protagonists: as fans of the saga know, the latter brutally murdered the woman's husband in a scene of extreme violence, among other things faithfully taken by comic books . The challenge, according to Cohan, will be to see together “two people who are not yet on good terms but will play on new ground. You will see elements of their character that will be new and unexpected". Morgan himself thinks that the possibilities of storytelling in this case are endless, also reconnecting to the other spin-offs: "The door remains open because we are all on the same timeline, they are stories that they exist at the same time ”.

The Walking Dead: Dead City is in fact only the latest of the many expansions of this universe originating from Robert Kirkman's comics: in addition to the first spin-off Fear the Walking Dead , we have also seen over the years World Beyond, about a new generation of kids battling the zombie apocalypse, and the anthology of stories Tales of the Walking Dead. In addition to the adventure of Negan and Maggie, in the future we will also see new series focused one on the revived Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) accompanied by Michonne (Danai Gurira) and the other on Norman Reedus' Daryl Dixon. Dead City will debut in the United States in April , while the last season of Fear the Walking Dead will arrive in May , for which a new, captivating trailer has also been released in the last few hours:
