Tesla Supercharger V4 has a maximum power of 600 kW



New information about the Tesla Supercharger V4 charging stations continues to leak online, which we already told you about a few days ago after the first specimens were spotted in Europe.

The news that they arrive with Supercharger V4 are essentially three: on the one hand it increases the maximum power supplied, on the other we have the integration of the Magic Dock, the connector that will also allow non-Tesla cars to use the column to recharge, via a classic CCS connector, finally, the column is equipped with a longer charging cable to simplify recharging even for non-Tesla cars that have the charging port in different points of the car.

Yesterday, as reported in the post published from the Tesla Charging profile, the first V4 Supercharger charging station has been inaugurated in Harderwijk, the Netherlands.

As often happens, however, Tesla hasn't been very good at releasing public information about the specifications of its new charging station, while there is always someone among the public able to find some information: it's the case of Esther, who posted a photo on Twitter showing us a sticker applied to the Supercharger V4 column from which we can get some technical information.

By reading the information on the sticker, we can see how the column is capable to supply 1000 volts and 615 amperes, which translates into a maximum power output of 615 kW, more than double the current! Obviously it is difficult for this maximum power to be reached during a normal recharging phase, but in theory the column is able to provide it. In the future it is possible that electric cars will become even more capable of accepting a large amount of electric current, thus making the most of the enormous power of this column, but to date no electric car of the company can recharge so quickly.
