TV series: how are the protagonists of those of the nineties today?

TV series

It's hard to believe, and even harder to admit, but three decades have passed since the 1990s. Those who grew up with the TV series, music and pop culture of those years are now traveling in their 30s and 40s and it is inevitable that they will start looking back with a mixture of nostalgia and amazement. The organizers of '90s Con are well aware of this, a convention with a retro flavor that was held last weekend in Connecticut, managing to bring together the protagonists of the main TV series and other pop phenomena of the time, many of whom met again for first time. There was great curiosity, for example, for the reunion of Charmed , the original series which had made its debut in 1998: in fact, the Halliwell sisters took the stage almost entirely, with the presence of Shannen Doherty , Rose McGowan and Holly Marie Combs and the justified absence of Alyssa Milano (who however supported her former colleagues with an enthusiastic post on Instagram: “ It fills me with happiness for the fans of the original Witches. What a gift! ”). Alongside them also the male protagonists Brian Krause (Leo), Dorian Gregory (Darryl) and Drew Fuller (Chris).

But Charmed fans aren't the only ones who have seen their idols reunited again. There was also some for Beverly Hills 90210 fans, even if the latter are more used to reunions and revivals on this front, albeit with mixed results. In fact, Tori Spelling, Jennie Garth, Jason Priestly and Ian Ziering - interpreters of the legendary Donna, Kelly, Brandon and Steve respectively - met up again at the '90s Con alongside Rebecca Gayheart, another idol of that decade who had participated in some episodes of the TV show as Toni.

And what about Sabrina the Teenage Witch ? The supernatural teen sitcom featured the little witch Sabrina, played by Melissa Joan Hart, who discovers her powers and the joys and pains of growing up while living with her aunts Hilda and Zelda (Caroline Rhea and Beth Broderick). The actresses met after years at the convention, joined by other protagonists of that production such as Jenna Leigh Green, Elisa Donovan and Nate Richert, or rather Sabrina's friends Libby and Morgan, and her boyfriend Harvey.

Reunion also for Full House , a comedy known by us with the title Dad's friends , and aired between the end of the eighties and the first half of the nineties. The same series was recently the subject of a Netflix revival, Fuller House , but now stars Candace Cameron Bure , Jodie Sweetin , Dave Coulier and Andrea Barber have also reunited in memory of Bob Saget, comedian their former colleague who passed away prematurely in 2022.
