Honor Magic Vs is very important for our market

Honor's launch event at Mobile World Congress 2023 was full of very interesting news, from the (re)launch of the Honor Magic5 Lite battery phone which amazed us with its great autonomy up to the new flagship Honor Magic5 Pro equipped with cutting-edge specifications and a first-class photographic sector.

An announcement that however was really important for the European market, and consequently also ours, was that of the arrival on the shelves of Honor Magic Vs stores, the foldable book designed for those who need a large screen to always carry with them.

Honor Magic Vs is a foldable book smartphone similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 , the latter its main and the only opponent in our country.

Equipped with a display with a conventional aspect ratio on the outside, inside it has a huge 7.9-inch AMOLED panel that allows you to easily use multiple applications simultaneously. This makes it perfect for those who often find themselves using their smartphone extensively, eliminating the need to switch back and forth between two applications to get tasks done.

Not only that, under the body beats the excellent Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, the same one chosen by the direct South Korean opponent. Unlike the latter, however, Honor Magic Vs offers users 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal memory at a price significantly lower than the basic 256GB version of the Samsung foldable.

Honor has wisely positioned the foldable to match Z Fold4 in terms of sheer power specs, giving users a complete package of plenty of memory, good cameras, and a display setup that will satisfy most of people who until now have wanted a device with this innovative form factor.

In doing this, Honor has also managed to improve some of its opponent's weaknesses, minor complaints that enthusiasts have pointed out over the years and that Samsung has not yet managed to resolve.

First of all, Honor mounts a display on the outside that recalls in all respects the dimensions of the panels of classic smartphones, reducing the frames that surround it and guaranteeing users not to be limited to a different user experience than usual.

Next, the new hinge allows the two halves of Magic Vs to completely close without leaving any gaps. Hinge which, made using only 4 components and no gears, is lighter and leaves more room for maneuver in this sense for a larger capacity battery (5000mAh against 4400mAh) and a large external display.

Honor Magic Vs therefore finds itself in a more unique than rare position, namely that of being not only the alternative to Samsung's foldable but of being able to charm a greater number of users thanks to an aggressive price (even if still in the premium range) and features that the competitor's model lacks.

Personally, I can't wait to be able to try Magic Vs extensively in order to understand if Honor is really able to conquer this particular slice of the market , a market that, regardless of the success of this first foldable brought to the West, has certainly already managed to shake .
