Overwatch is free until January 2, 2022 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One and PC thanks to the new Free Trial announced by Blizzard for the holiday season.

From now until Sunday, January 2 you can play Blizzard's famous team-based multiplayer PvP shooter for free. You can therefore try all 32 heroes of the Overwatch roster, try your hand at Quick Match, Custom and Arcade modes and battle it out in 28 different maps.

D.Va, one of the playable characters of Overwatch To participate in the Overwatch Free Trial you just need a Battle.net account on PC, a subscription to Xbox Live Gold for Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One or a active PlayStation Plus subscription on PS5 and PS4.

During this free trial period you will be able to level up, get Chests and unlock various customization options for characters. All progress will be maintained if you decide to purchase Overwatch later with the same account used in the Free Trials.

Like last year, lucky gamers who score a new PC or console during the holidays will have another free-to-play option during the holidays. The latest Overwatch free trial is live, and it will run until January 2.


You’ll be able to level up, earn loot boxes and unlock cosmetics, including the new Winter Wonderland skins. You’ll be able to play with friends across all platforms thanks to cross-play, and all progress will carry forward if you buy the game on the same account.

PS4 and PS5</a> players will still need PlayStation Plus to play Overwatch, while Xbox players must have an Xbox Live Gold membership. On PC, you’ll need a Battle.net account. The free trial isn’t available on Nintendo Switch, however.


I’ve been banging the drum for Overwatch to go free-to-play for a while, so here’s hoping this will be the last trial until that happens.
