STALKER. 1989 is a free demake of the GSC Game World series

STALKER. 1989 is an indie demake from the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. by GSC Game World. It is completely free and you can play it from a browser. As can be easily understood, it is quite short, but at the same time it is very enjoyable, especially because it excellently captures the spirit of some titles of the time.

The official description of the game does not leave many doubts about the goal of the project: "What if the STALKER video game had been released in 1989?" It would probably have been a run ' n'gun like this demake (or an RPG, but let's not beat around the bush).

The control system is very simple: with the arrows or with the WASD keys you move, with X or J you shoot and with Z or K you jump. The pace of the game is quite slow, because the developer wanted to focus more on accuracy than on frenzy. In total you have three lives to try to finish the long level that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is composed of. 1989. Fortunately there are checkpoints to help, so it shouldn't be too busy.

Definitely a great way to dampen the anticipation of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.
