Sonic in a new LEGO Ideas creation
The famous SEGA mascot, Sonic, is the subject of a new brick creation in his effigy, made by a 24-year-old British girl, Viv Grannell. A project initially submitted to the LEGO Ideas platform.

A crowdsourcing platform developed by The Lego Group since 2008, Lego Ideas is an initiative which lets the general public propose its creations and makes fans vote before launch the production. Largely inspired by Sonic Mania, Viv Grannell's design illustrates the iconic faces and decors of the Green Hill Zone level. He collected the prerequisite of 10,000 votes from fans. The product will thus be able to enter the development phase before being marketed throughout the world. The release date of the set is not yet known.

I have been interested in the world of Sonic since I was almost born, and it fits so well with the LEGO system that I have spent close to 'A year of garnering enough support for this to happen. 10,000 people validating my idea is already impressive even with the help of my friends and family, but seeing her selected for production is the most exciting secret I have ever had to keep! - Viv Grannell, press release.
