PlayStation State of Play: what to expect? Let's discuss it together!

PlayStation State of Play

The February State of Play airs tonight at 11pm, but what can we expect from the first PlayStation event of 2021? The company has confirmed that there will be no hardware or business-related announcements (such as acquisitions or sales figures) but only presentations of new games and insights.

In particular, there will be "news on the games shown at the event PlayStation for June "and some new announcements. In total there will be 10 different games that will be shown over 30 minutes, this is the duration of the show. What can we expect then?

In the absence of more precise information, the community has obviously started to dream big, hoping for the appearance of God of War 2, Final Fantasy XVI and Horizon Forbidden West. Three games highly anticipated by PlayStation users but which probably will not find space in the State of Play, as their release is still far in time. Of these, only Horizon Forbidden West has been confirmed for 2021 but the launch should be scheduled for the end of the year, so we will probably know more in the summer.

A possible candidate is GTA 5 for PlayStation 5, announced last year and then disappeared from the spotlight. There are those who also think in a possible announcement of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Ever Crisis for PS4 and PS5, a re-edition of the Square Enix game with new content. The hope then is to see Kena Bridge of Spirits (still without a release date) while it seems certain the presence of Returnal and Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart, the next big PlayStation exclusives coming out this spring.

Will there also be room for the announcement of the new PlayStation Plus games in March 2021? Scheduled for February 24, the reveal has slipped without any communication from Sony and this has obviously given rise to a series of speculations regarding a possible announcement scheduled for tonight.

But these are only guesses, let us know in the comments below what your expectations are and which games you would like to see during the State of Play, join us on Twitch from 22:00 to follow the event with us !
