Against all odds, the heroes will emerge in an intense and thrilling race to defeat the greedy multinational forces, cause of this national crisis, and their allies. Michael Keaton's 'Dopesick' series gets Disney+ release date
Michael Keaton leads an all-star cast in what is set to be a gripping limited series.From executive producer Danny Strong ('Empire') and starring and executive produced by Michael Keaton, 'Dopesick' is based on The New York Times bestselling book by Beth Macy, examining how one company triggered the worst drug epidemic in American history.
The series will see Keaton star as one of the lead actors in a TV series for the first time since his stint on 'The Mary Tyler Moore Show' during the '80s. Joining him will be a strong cast of Rosario Dawson, Peter Sarsgaard, Michael Stuhlbarg, Will Poulter, John Hoogenakker, and Kaitlyn Dever. Phillipa Soo and Jake McDorman will also guest star.
The Hulu original will be a limited series, but one that has been highly anticipated, mostly down to its strong team both in front and behind the camera. Emmy-winner Danny Strong wrote the script while the series is directed by Oscar-winner Barry Levinson ('Paterno', 'Rain Man').
Consisting of eight episodes, the series will be added to Disney+'s growing adult titles, which was boosted earlier this year with the arrival of Star as an additional part of the streaming service. The streamer recently added 'The Walking Dead', 'Only Murders in the Building' and new sci-fi series 'Y: The Last Man' to its growing collection.
