Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic: Switch version of the classic RPG announced

Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic

There were some surprises with the latest edition of Nintendo Direct. In addition to the presentation of a new subscription for Nintendo Switch Online, there was an appearance of the RPG classic Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. The role-playing game from 2003 will soon be available for Nintendo Switch.

The port is based on the 18-year-old original and is currently being developed by the Aspyr Media development studio. It's the same team that is working on the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic for the PS5. The focus of the story is the conflict between Jedi and Sith. However, the events take place around 4,000 years before the rise of the Galactic Empire, which played a major role in the first Star Wars film.

In terms of content, the switch port is said to be identical to the original. However, it is not yet known more precisely whether and which technical adjustments will be made. It is conceivable that Aspyr Media will make some changes to the controls, among other things, in order to optimize them for the handheld mode of the Nintendo Switch. There could also be some minor adjustments with regard to the display (interface, menu navigation).

The release of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic for the Nintendo Switch is planned for November 11, 2021. The sales price should be 12.49 euros. You can find the first screenshots below this message. Incidentally, this is not the first port of an older Star Wars game for the Switch: titles such as Star Wars Episode 1: Racer and Star Wars: Republic Commando are available for Nintendo's current console.
