NieR Reincarnation: Yoko Taro has never spent money on a gacha game!
During a recent streaming appointment dedicated to mobile gaming, Square Enix presented the opening video of NieR: Reincarnation, but not only.

The live broadcast also saw the development team present some of the game dynamics of production. It has thus been confirmed that NieR: Reincarnation will include gacha game dynamics, through which it will be possible to obtain new weapons. Many of these can be unlocked via the lottery system, but several will be obtainable during the title's main campaign.

A detail that gave rise to a rather peculiar exchange of words between Yoko Taro, creative director of the NieR series, Yosuke Saito and Daichi Matsukawa, director of NieR: Reincarnation. The first has in fact declared that he has never spent money on a gacha game, which also includes Sinoalice, a Square Enix mobile title of which he took care of the script. Referring to NieR: Reincarnation, Yoko Taro stated that he could possibly change his mind. Ironically, Yosuke Saito has therefore proposed for the next live stream to include a segment dedicated to the author's first expense in a gacha game.

The mobile title is intended to initially land only on the Japanese market, with a date of launch scheduled for February 18, 2021. To celebrate the debut, a partnership between NieR: Reincarnation and NieR: Automata was unveiled, which will coincide with the launch of the game.
