The new BMW i4, which in the photos below is portrayed with a lighter camouflage than seen in the past, will be offered in different engines, the most powerful with 530 horsepower. The range is highly respectable, about 600 km on the WLTP cycle; a figure that despite being slightly inferior to that of Tesla, qualifies the BMW i4 as a perfectly usable car for medium-long journeys. As anticipated, the price of the i4 will be higher than that of a Model 3, given that the German proposal starts at $ 50,000 as a base price.
Thanks to the photos we report, we can finally admire the shapes of the car without additions of superfluous plastics: from the photos we can immediately notice the presence of the usual generously sized kidney grille, even if in this case there should be no need to cool the engine, so the grille does not perform a practical function. The rest of the car does not differ much from the 4 Series Gran Coupe on which the i4 is based, although there are some minor differences, such as that of the retractable door handles, an exclusive feature of this model. As anticipated in previous news, the new BMW i4 will boast some technical details typical of high-performance BMW models, such as widened wheel arches and a more powerful braking system than the stock one, to ensure that this 530 horsepower monster comes to a stop without difficulty .
The official presentation of the new BMW i4 will take place during the current year, while the actual arrival on the market should not take place before 2022.
