God of War: Gameplay presentation is said to be imminent

God of War

As is well known, Sony skipped this year's E3. For this reason, there were no announcements or presentations of major first-party games for the PlayStation platforms during the fair - accordingly there was nothing to see or hear about the new episode of God of War. However, that could change soon.

At least that's what the well-known insider and leaker Nick "Shpeshal Nick" Baker, who is one of the founders of XboxEra, claims. He recently spoke up on Twitter and brought the new God of War into play.

"I was told that we would get to see the first gameplay of the new God of War on Sony's show as well will be very exciting. "

The insider left it open which show is meant by this. However, rumors have been circulating for some time that another edition of Sony's "State of Play" will supposedly take place on July 8, 2021. That would logically be the ideal time to present the first gameplay of God of War. But so far Sony has neither commented nor confirmed the show rumor nor the speculations surrounding the gameplay revelation.

Just recently there were rumors surrounding the official name of Kratos' next adventure. First, the title "God of War: Ragnarök" appeared in a Sony investor presentation. A little later, however, the Game Director Cory Barlog spoke up to deny the name.

Rumor – God Of War Ragnarok Gameplay To Debut At Upcoming Sony Show

Sony is hotly-tipped to unveil the first God of War Ragnarok gameplay during its post-E3 2021 show later this summer.

That’s according to reliable insider Shpeshal_Nick, the co-founder of XboxEra, who wrote on Twitter that he’s been told by sources that we’ll see Kratos’ highly anticipated PS5 and PS4</a> title in action.

God of War Ragnarok is the follow-up to 2018’s critically acclaimed soft reboot of the franchise, and is due for release in 2022. While originally believed to be a PS5-only game, Sony recently confirmed that it’s launching for PS4, too.

Sony hasn’t announced any plans to showcase God of War Ragnarok in the near future, but hopefully Nick is on the money with this one.

God of War debuted back in 2005 for the PS2 and remains one of Sony’s most successful first-party IPs. While the first batch of games focussed on Greek mythology, 2018’s entry shifted to gears with a Norse-inspired backdrop.
