52% of Italians own a pet and among them over 7 million are cats. And this year to celebrate the many cats from all over Italy on the day dedicated to them (February 17) there is also Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury.

The right occasion to celebrate felines from all over Italy It will be February 17, the date on which the National Cat Day is held: this year also Super Mario joins the celebrations with Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury which will see Mario and the other protagonists transform into an adorable cat version.

Since 1990, the date chosen to celebrate cats has fallen on February 17th, but why was this day chosen? As Nintendo Italia reminds us, there are many reasons and the first is the seven lives of happy friends: just look at the two digits that make up the number 17 to understand why. And again: "17 is a number linked to misfortune as in the past cats, always seen as unusual animals and associated with witches. It is no coincidence that February was defined by some popular sayings as the month of cats and witches. " Finally, February is also the month of the astrological sign of Aquarius: "sign of free spirits, which make originality and non-conformism their main feature."
