Intel Comet Lake Refresh, CPUs spotted in Malaysia

Intel Comet Lake Refresh

The recently announced Intel Core i3 Comet Lake Refresh CPUs have already arrived in Malaysia, according to a message posted on Reddit. One user shared photos of what appear to be two Core i3-10105F CPUs inside a differently styled box than previous ones at a Malaysian retailer. Certainly, the chips will be placed in stock so as to be available for the launch of the new line of processors, expected for next month along with the 11th generation Rocket Lake.

The updated Core i3 line up will integrate to the new line of Rocket Lake-based Intel Core i5, Core i7 and Core i9 chips. As previously stated by the company from Santa Clara, in fact, the Core i3 CPUs will not be part of the Rocket Lake range, but will only be updated with the tenth generation Comet Lake-S microarchitecture. The Core i3-10105F model spotted in Malaysia features four cores, eight threads, and will offer a base frequency of 3.7GHz. At the moment we don't know what the integrated GPU will be, but we expect it to be an Intel HD 630 or 610, or its Boost Clock. Performance-wise, the leap forward from the previous Core i3-10100F, which comes with a 3.6GHz base clock, feels pretty low. However, we hope that the i3-10105F has a much higher Boost frequency to compete with the 4.3 GHz of the i3-10100F.

Intel's Rocket Lake line is expected to debut next month and we expect Comet Lake Refresh models to launch around the same time. The fact that some stores have already received the products indicates that their presentation should be imminent by now.
