The design director Justin Wiebe of DICE Los Angeles recently spoke up via Twitter. He asked his followers if they could imagine which project of an electronic arts brand he was currently working on. A little later he revealed the little secret: It's Battlefield.
However, he left it completely open what exactly is behind it. It is entirely possible that DICE Los Angeles is currently working on Battlefield 6 - possibly "only" as support for a larger studio. However, it is also conceivable that the team would work on a completely independent game from the Battlefield universe. This could be in connection with the recently speculated Battle Royale mode. So it cannot be ruled out that DICE Los Angeles will take care of an independent Battle Royale offshoot of the Battlefield series - similar to Call of Duty Warzone.
