Nobara Kugisaki, review of the new Bandai Figuarts Zero

Nobara Kugisaki

Nobara Kugisaki , is the latest figure to arrive in the editorial team that we are going to review, taken from Jujutsu Kaisen produced by Bandai and Tamashii Nations for its line of Figuarts Zero statues. The previous releases, which we have already reviewed on the pages of Cultura Pop, featured the protagonist Yuji Itadori (Black Flash), the cursed spirit Sakuna and Megumi Fushiguro, a schoolmate of Itadori and Nobara.

The character

Nobara Kugisaki is a character in the anime or manga "Jujutsu Kaisen", written and drawn by Gege Akutami, she is a student of the Tokyo School of Jujutsu Arts , an institution that trains students to fight demons. Nobara is a young girl with red hair and green eyes, with a strong sense of honor and duty. She is also very brave and determined, and she is not afraid to put herself in danger to help others. Her main ability is to transform her nails into thorns, with which she can hurl ranged attacks or use them as close combat weapons. Her personality is very strong and determined, she is often able to remain calm even in tense moments. She is a very interesting and well-developed character with a complex personal history that is gradually unraveled over time.

The packaging

The Nobara Kugisaki figure from the Figuarts Zero line is presented in window-front packaging showing a portion of the statue inside. The square-shaped box is made of rigid cardboard and features the design and illustrations of the anime or manga series from which the figure comes. The graphics are identical to all four previous releases of the Jujutsu Kaisen line, not distorting it and giving stylistic continuity. As per tradition, on the title page we see the inevitable logos of Bandai Spirits, Tamashii Nations, the new Bandai Namco logo, the classic logo of the Figuarts Zero line, concluding with the holographic stamp of Tamashii Nations which certifies the product as original. On the back we find four images of Nobara that show us the various details of the statue. Once the box is opened, the statue is contained within two transparent blisters and a layer of film which serve to protect it from damage or bumps during transport.

Nobara Kugisaki – Figuarts Zero

The figure of Nobara Kugisaki from the Figuarts Zero line is a statuette made made of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) measuring approximately 17cm in height. The static faithfully reproduces the character of the anime or manga from which it comes, paying particular attention to the details of the costume and facial expressions. Nobara is depicted while she carries out her attack leaning on a tree trunk, surrounded by blue tongues of fire with black edges made of semi-transparent PVC. Her main weapon is a metal hammer decorated with a heart. She can use it to attack her opponents at close range, but more often she uses it to strike and throw spikes infused with cursed energy at her opponents from afar. The hammer is also essential for activating her Resonance technique, which activates when Nobara strikes her nail into her effigy to target her. The statue from the point of view of the sculpture is very well done, giving great attention to the realization of the clothes and the flames. If we really have to go and nitpick, we could find some smudging imperfections in the coloring but nothing so irremediable on a visual level.

Conclusions

In conclusion this figure of Nobara Kugisaki from the Figuarts Zero line is a great choice for fans of the anime or manga who want to add a piece quality to their collection. Overall, we have in our hands some excellent proposals for lovers of Jujutsu Kaisen, the statue has breached our personal tastes thanks to an apt representation with a strong dynamic component, the use of flame-shaped effects only increases the visual impact next to all the previous releases.
