Hideo Kojima has his own kryptonite

Hideo Kojima, the famous author of Death Stranding and the Metal Gear Solid saga, recently expressed his desire to play Deathloop, the new game from Arkane Studios released today. Unfortunately, as he himself states on social media, it seems that the video game is not particularly suitable for his health.

Deathloop is currently having many positive reviews and will probably compete for the Game of The Year award at The Game Awards 2021. It is impossible to miss such an acclaimed title, yet there are those who cannot come close to a screen with the video game running just like Hideo Kojima. The Japanese author suffers from motion sickness, a neurological disorder that in the gaming field is better known as motion sickness: a malaise that manifests itself with nausea, vomiting and dizziness following irregular movements that some people feel even simply as spectators of a screen.

For Hideo Kojima, as well as for many people suffering from this neurological disorder, video games with first person view like Deathloop are a problem. The developer spoke in the morning on social networks about his interest in the game of Arkane, specifying, however, that he is afraid to try it because of his discomfort with motion sickness: “Deathloop is a game in a time loop with an interesting system. I want to play it, but it's in first person and I would probably suffer from 3D. Mhhhh. "

"DEATHLOOP". It's a time loop game with an interesting system. I want to play it, but it's a FPS and I'll probably get 3D-sick. Hmmm.

In a subsequent message, Hideo Kojima also explained how motion sickness manifests itself with him: “I always suffered from it even though I was on the gymnastics team. During the trips, I sat in front of the bus. I suffer on the swings. In amusement parks I couldn't go on teacups, Viking rides, flying carpets, octopus rides, or anything that spins. Roller coasters are fine. " The problem for the developer would therefore seem to be the rotation of the camera with the first person view of Deathloop. While we wait for Kojima to find a mod that unlocks the third-person camera, we invite you to read our Deathloop review. The game was released today September 14 on PS5 and PC.
