FIFA 21: EA tests new loot boxes in Ultimate Team

FIFA 21

At the start of the Festival of FUTball in FIFA 21, EA brought new loot boxes into the game that show you all the content before you have to make a decision whether you want to buy this pack or not. The so-called preview packs will be available during the festival. The creators have explained all the details about the innovation on the website.

As usual, FUT players select a pack in the mode's store. A small eye over the loot box indicates that the content can now be viewed as a preview. If you select the player pack, there is the familiar opening animation of a pack to see, which you can either watch or skip. You will then be shown an overview of all the cards in the package. Only here do players make the final decision whether they want to spend FUT coins or FIFA Points.

FIFA, Call of Duty and Co .: Where is the risk tolerance of the developers?

Current titles from FIFA and Call of Duty have hardly any innovations. Editor Michael Grünwald would like the developers to be more willing to take risks again. var lstExcludedArticleTicker = '1374402,1374223,1373093,1372376'; If you choose not to buy, the Preview Pack will remain in the FUT Store and will be equipped with a timer. Only when this clock has expired can a new package be viewed. In EA's example, the timer had a total duration of 24 hours. Preview packs will disappear from the range after the end of the Festival of FUTball. Nevertheless, this test could give an outlook on the future of Ultimate Team. EA is always at the center of the discussions about whether the FUT packs can be compared to gambling or not. With the new loot boxes, the publisher would at least accommodate the criticism somewhat.

The two Brits played FIFA together in an event hosted by Gamers Without Borders - a charity aiming to provide Covid-19 vaccines around the world.

United academy graduate Lingard has enjoyed a huge resurgence this year as he spent the second half of the season on loan West Ham.

The 28-year-old guided the Hammers to European qualification but his efforts on the pitch have clearly come at a cost for his FIFA skills.

Joshua meanwhile proved his fast hands in the ring translate effortlessly to the controller as he guided Liverpool to victory over Lingard-esque Chelsea.

The 31-year-old then decided to rub it in by filming his win on Snapchat while singing along to the Reds famous song - You'll Never Walk Alone.

A hilariously unimpressed Lingard stuck his fingers in his ears to drown out the lyrics and fans on social media were huge fans of AJ's efforts.

One tweeted: 'I'm a United fan but this is top banter!'

Another said: 'Sign him up Jurgen! Any chance he can play a number 6?' while a third added: 'Wouldn't have happened if Jesse used United'.
