Far Cry 5: fan recreates all GoldenEye 007 in arcade mode

Far Cry 5

One of the aspects most appreciated by the Far Cry 5 community is undoubtedly the Arcade mode. Thanks to this feature, players have given free rein to their creativity, going to create new levels, game modes, and sometimes even real whole games thanks to the possibilities offered by this mode. What is incredible is how an enthusiast managed to recreate the iconic FPS GoldenEye 007 using this mode present in the Ubisoft title.

The fantastic job was done by YouTuber 'Krollywood', who has made what appears to be a sort of fan-made remake of the shooter released on Nintendo 64 in 1997. All this was possible thanks to the map editor of Far Cry 5. The YouTuber told Kotaku it wasn't an easy job, and the whole thing took nearly three years of work. The end result is impressive, and does justice to one of the most recognizable FPS titles of the entire genre.

Far Cry's Arcade mode has been able to entertain the Ubisoft gaming community for some time after its launch. Many gamers love to test their creativity, and the editor allows for unlimited possibilities and to create loyal giveaways like this GoldenEye 007 tribute. It hurts to know that Ubisoft has no plans to include this mode in the upcoming Far Cry 6 as well. , especially after seeing what big projects fans are capable of accomplishing.

The resemblance to the original game released on the Nintendo 64 is frightening. Not surprisingly, a little while ago we compared this creation by the enthusiast to a sort of amateur remake, because the levels really seem identical to how they reminded us of them at the end of the 90s.

If you too want to indulge yourself with Arcade mode, or just want to play the great creations of other players, you can recover Far Cry 5 by purchasing your copy of the Ubisoft game on Amazon at this address.

Far Cry 5 Player Completely Recreates GoldenEye 007 Using Arcade Mode

Following the confirmation that Far Cry 6 would not offer an Arcade Mode, which means no more map editor, fans of the Ubisoft franchise are diving back into this creative feature with older titles. One Far Cry 5 player got in touch with their nostalgia by faithfully recreating GoldenEye 007 and to say it's impressive would be a massive understatement.

The dedicated recreation of GoldenEye007 comes by way of YouTuber 'Krollywood'. They took their love of the 1997 shooter and made it tangible using Far Cry 5's map editor, completely rebuilding the N64 classic from the ground up. The YouTuber told Kotaku that this was no easy endeavor. This recreation took almost three years to make and over 1,400 to see this project come to fruition. That's impressive in its own right, doubly so for me because I give up after an hour of trying to make a dinky house in Minecraft. So. There's that.

For those interested in playing this level in lieu of a this-gen remake of the N64 shooter, you can download this recreation in Far Cry 5. To do so, simply search for the PSN screenname 'Perfect-Dark1982'. Search that name and you'll be able to see all of the levels that this YouTuber created, effectively allowing you to relive a fan-favorite yourself through the 2018 Ubisoft game.

The Arcade Mode in Far Cry has always been a beloved feature by a majority of players, mostly because it kept the fun going long after the end credits rolled. A lot of gamers love to have their creativity challenged and the map editor allows for unlimited creational inspiration that can be used to craft faithful homages such as this GoldenEye tribute. It's pretty awesome to see, though it does make me even more lamentful that Ubisoft has confirmed that this feature will no longer be a part of the Far Cry experience after 5.
