SSD prices may soon plummet

According to TrendForce analysts, SSD prices could soon (we are even talking about this quarter) drop significantly, due to the large number of NANDs produced in the face of not so high demand.

In fact, it seems that this year the usual peak of demand has not occurred and, consequently, the supply of NAND is greater than the real need, a situation that will lead to a 30-35% drop in the price of memories flash (compared to 15-20% previously expected). Since NAND chips are the core components of SSDs, we should also expect a drop in the prices of high-speed storage drives.

For sure, manufacturers will try to dispose of their stocks as soon as possible, even launching substantial offers to incentivize buyers. At the moment, it is not easy to determine how long this downward trend will last, but it will most likely carry on into next year. Surely, the next few months will be particularly interesting for all those who intend to buy a new SSD to expand the storage space of their system (or improve its performance).
