Intel and the government have chosen Veneto for the new factory

A few days ago, we reported to you about a possible delay concerning the agreement between the Italian government and Intel for the construction of the new factory of the American giant in Italy. Previously, we told you that the government of Rome would be ready to finance up to 40% of Intel's total investment in the Bel Paese, an increase from the initial $ 5 billion. The outgoing premier, Mario Draghi, was determined to conclude the agreement by the end of August, while the opening of the plant should take place by 2025, generating a workforce demand of about 1,500 employees and an additional 3,500 jobs between suppliers and partner.

Apparently, it seems that, albeit with a bit of delay, according to an article published by Reuters, the site on which the long-awaited Intel factory will be built has finally been chosen. This is the city of Vigasio, located near Verona, in Veneto. Apparently, the decision was also made for connections with Madgeburg, Germany, where the American giant will build two more factories.

The factory that will rise in Italy will be dedicated to advanced chip packaging, using cutting-edge technologies that should allow the company to save time on mass production. We recall that Italy is also conducting negotiations with other companies for the production of semiconductors, such as the Italian-French STMicroelectronics, Taiwan MEMC Electronic Materials Inc, TSMC and the Israeli Tower Semiconductor, which Intel acquired at the beginning of the year.
