Pinocchio by Guillermo del Toro: video shows the behind the scenes of Netflix's stop-motion film

Pinocchio by Guillermo del Toro

On September 24, 2022, Netflix's Tudum aired and showed us various news coming to the video streaming platform. Among the various projects there was space for Pinocchio, precisely that of Guillermo del Toro. Now, we can see a behind-the-scenes look at the stop motion film. The video is shown above.

The Pinocchio video quickly shows us some settings and some characters, giving us a taste of the quality of the stop motion created by Guillermo del Toro's team. We can notice various details, such as the fact that different types of puppets of different sizes are used for various types of scenes: for example, there is a gigantic head of Pinocchio used for close-up shots.

Guillermo del Toro announced Pinocchio way back in 2008: the original release was scheduled for 2013 but the project fell into limbo for several years. In 2017, animator Patrick McHale announced he was co-writing the project, but production was suspended because no studio wanted to invest the required money. Production resumed the following year, after the acquisition of Netflix.

Pinocchio will be able to count on the voices of Ewan McGregor, David Bradley, Gregory Mann, Finn Wolfhard, Cate Blanchett, John Turturro, Ron Perlman, Tim Blake Nelson, Burn Gorman, Christoph Waltz, and Tilda Swinton.

Pinocchio will hit theaters in November 2022 and on Netflix in December 2022.

Finally, we remind you of another announcement from Tudum: the date release of The Witcher Blood Origin.
