A new Chinese gaming GPU could arrive in 2025

In a recent interview, co-founder, CTO and chief software architect of Chinese company MetaX Tech, Yang Jian, said that the company's gaming GPU will hit the market by 2025. In fact, MetaX Tech, which has made great strides in terms of financial support and development, recently unveiled its roadmap for high-performance video cards.

Unlike other Chinese companies, MetaX products they are equipped with a "designed from scratch IP core and GPU architecture with an independently designed instruction set". This approach, for example, differs from that employed by Innosilicon, which used technology from Imagination Techologies (PowerVR) for its Fantasy GPUs. The Chinese graphics card market represents 40% of the world market and MetaX's intention is to become one of the country's leading pioneers, proposing GPUs that are not limited to speeding up calculations for AI or scientific models, but also to dealing with graphic rendering at high levels. According to the MyDrivers portal, MetaX Tech's line of gaming GPUs will be called “MXG” and will arrive in 2025.
