Battlefield 2042, DICE reassures fans

Battlefield 2042

The postponement of Battlefield 2042 was certainly the news of the week. The game is now no longer scheduled for October 22, 2021, as before but will instead arrive on virtual shelves and not starting from November 19, 2021. A small postponement, therefore, not even of a month, which however was enough to feed some suspects in about the state of the new DICE shooter planned for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and PC. However, suspicions that were extinguished in the bud by the development team, quickly thanks to the use of social networks.

In an "unofficial" way (ie without a press release) Jim Hejl thought about it , developer with DICE, to reassure fans about the state of Battlefield 2042. “Thanks for the support regarding the new launch date. It's nice to know that players trust not, ”Hejl began on Twitter. “The game is solid. This is not the first time this has happened to me. The project is not in trouble. It just needs a little more time ", the words of the developer, who also asks fans to have faith in it.

A postponement of just one month certainly cannot mean that the project is in trouble . On the other hand, for DICE and Electronic Arts Battlefield 2042 is certainly one of the most important games of the Christmas season and the deployment of forces to make it perfectly playable is undeniable, as explained by Hejl. “There are hundreds of developers around the world who are working on it,” the words launched in a subsequent tweet. A few more weeks to refine everything seems more than legitimate, especially if we are talking about one of the most important and most anticipated first person shooters.

Hey, I really appreciate all the support from the community regarding the new 2042 dates. It feels good that you trust us.

And you should. It's a solid game. This isn't my first rodeo. It's not a project in trouble. It just needs a little longer on spin cycle.

Battlefield 2042 has been delayed by a few weeks. The military shooter, which was originally slated to launch for PC and consoles on Oct. 22, will now arrive on Nov. 19.

'Building the next generation of Battlefield during a global pandemic has created unforeseen challenges for our development teams,' developer EA DICE explained in a statement shared on Twitter.

'Given the scale and scope of the game, we had hoped our teams would be back in our studios together as we move towards launch. With the ongoing conditions not allowing that to happen safely, and with all the hard work the teams are doing from home, we feel it is important to take the extra time to deliver on the vision of Battlefield 2042 for our players.'
