With Google Maps you can now choose the most sustainable route

A new Google Maps update allows users to choose the route based on environmental impact. Following the update of the app regarding the functions dedicated to tolls, traffic and signage, Google has decided to contribute to the protection of the environment.

The indication of the best green route will still leave the user the possibility to decide whether to follow the shortest route or the one that has a lower environmental impact and a consequent lower release of CO2. The data on the ecological path will be provided by the European Environmental Agency and the Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory based on calculations made by factors that affect CO2 emissions.

According to what has been published, in the next days, the app will also allow you to enter the type of car (diesel, petrol, electric or hybrid) so as to allow the user to view even more detailed and completely personalized information.| ); } A recent app update has also included the price per liter of petrol, diesel, LPG and methane for some areas of Italy. Allowing the user to consult the cost of fuels directly from the app is inevitably useful in a period like the current one. In detail, the display of petrol prices on Google Maps is possible either by selecting the petrol pump concerned, thus displaying the price, or by searching for petrol stations in the area with relative fuel costs for each pump.
