Lamborghini's next hybrid supercar will perhaps have a new V8

Lamborghini is in a state of transition as its range will be increasingly electrified; in the process, the Huracan will be replaced and a new report says the V10 will leave production to make room for a newly developed V8.

Instead of using a conventional turbocharger to increase power, it is rumored that Lamborghini will adopt an electrified V8 capable of pushing up to 7,000 rpm and, only once that threshold is reached, the in-line turbocharger will come into operation. it will provide extra power up to 10,000 revolutions per minute. If true, the "new Huracan" could become an extremely "explosive" supercar, capable of going from aspirated to turbo delivery in no time. The report, shared by Motortrend, states that in addition to the turbocharger, Lamborghini will insert an axial electric motor, inserted between the transmission and the powertrain. A very different solution from what we are used to until now, but we know that the brand generally follows particular choices; Lamborghini's first hybrid, Sian FKP37, for example uses a supercapacitor instead of a battery to store energy.

What will the new Huracan be like? Hard to say, some reports suggest it may be slightly longer to accommodate all the new powertrains; others, on the other hand, assume regular dimensions and the presence of a plug-in charging system which, however, could aggravate, even slightly, the overall weight. With the Huracan, Lamborghini has shown that it knows how to make racing supercars and we are sure that the batteries will not stop the progress of the brand. In any case, in addition to the new hybrid Huracan, whose name we do not yet know, Lamborghini is working to develop an all-round electric that will probably be a 2 + 2-seater touring car destined to follow in the footsteps of the previous Estosque endothermic.| ); }
